Tennis Selections Etc
It’s not very often I tip a winner so please excuse me for gloating. It’s there in black and white in last week’s betting blog “KAC and MAC is a nailed on draw and under 2.5 goals.” The away side grabbed a 17th minute lead with punters having to wait until the 87th minute before they could collect from both slips. Go on my son!
This week I’ll give you some gambling advice for the upcoming tennis season finale: The ATP WORLD TOUR FINALS. This sees the top 8 men’s players in the world going head to head in a two-group format followed by semis and a final. With the upper echelons of men’s tennis at an all-time high it’s hard to determine a worthy favourite. In the hot seat for this tournament is none other than the greatest ever player to hold a tennis racket – Roger Federer. He’s a best priced 15/8 with most firms.
Big Bet- Djokovic
Now you know you’re always going to get a run for your money with Federer but I just can’t believe Djokovic is third in at 4/1. Yes that’s right 4/1 general. He’s had a season that’s been as good as one of the many multiple Federer slam years. He’s the world number one and is hungry to add more titles. This is a man whose fitness is second to none and I don’t buy into any end of season tired excuse. He will be motivated and firing on all cylinders for the fans in London. I myself have tickets for the ATP with a friend. We were hoping to see Federer but instead have Djokovic vs Berdych. World number one in action, not too shabby I suppose! It would have been nice to see Fed trying to win this event for the sixth time but value has to rule above the heart. Djokovic must be backed @ 4/1. Other than that I’d just say sit back and enjoy the tennis.
Olympic Watch
Whilst I was in Morocco my housemate interviewed the World Triathlon champion and runner-up – the Brownlee brothers. Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee came first and second in this year’s worlds in Beijing. He informed that were in good hands with those two for an Olympic medal. He watched them train and was relieved to have “forgotten” his kit thus not having to join in. His boss on the other hand was not as lucky/savvy. Having brought his kit he was invited to join in. Of course being a mere mortal he couldn’t move or speak for 2 hours after the session! Ouch.
Before I sign off though congratulations to QPR today for a fantastic away win and what a tear jerker today at Haydock. Kauto Star once again reminded us of why he’s one of the all-time greats.
