Weekly Greyhound Review

This week’s betting blog reviews the week’s greyhound action and has a bit of gambling advice for you at the end.

The Dogs- Friday

Friday saw the first round of the category one Betfred Eclipse at Nottingham with some decent sorts competing. All the “good things” qualified but some of the well fancied dogs had to work for victory, notably ante-post favourite Boher Paddy who didn’t have things his own way in front. Being led up by Mill Bling Bling he looked to have a race on his hands! He finally managed to force his way to take command off the fourth bend to go away and win by 2 lengths in a time of 30.04s.

The next heat saw Harry Williams’ Blue Artisan having his first race since finishing 4th behind Mill Bling Bling in the All England Cup at Newcastle. Breaking quickly out of trap three, he never looked like getting beat passing the winning line 3¾ lengths clear of Droopys Winston in a time of 30.26s.

The fast heat of the night came in heat four where Mark Wallis’ Jazz Apollo winning of the Kent Derby at Sittingbourne in August confirmed favouritism easily leading from the outset to win by 5 lengths in an impressive time of 29.75s.

Big Bet: Boher Paddy

Although Boher Paddy won in workman like fashion I think Charlie Lister would have left a bit in the tank to work with. I expect him to take this category one competition before being put away for the year.
