“Messy Was An Understatement”
The festive period is always a busy one for sport, friends and family. It was my Sunday football team’s Christmas party on the Friday and to say it got messy was an understatement. Needless to say I was grateful for the office being closed the next day with myself and two housemates surfacing at 3:30pm! More Xmas eve drinks left me happily snoozing during Happy Feet in the afternoon. I’m back in the office today before I risk the health of my liver by partaking in many a festive birthday, and of course a little bit of sports betting!
Tomorrow sees my beloved QPR travel to Swansea in search of their first win in 5 Premier league games, and they are also looking to avoid losing four on the trot! The Swans are a good passing side at home but have struggled to score goals. I can see Warnock saying enough is enough and demanding a tight performance. I will be backing QPR DNB @ 13/8 general. I can see us turning in a good performance and may even back us at 3/1! Other bets I’d recommend for the game are under 2.5 goals @ 8/11 and Heidar Helguson to score anytime @ 9/4. He just hasn’t stopped scoring for us this season and hasn’t let me down yet in my fantasy team!
Another supposed “good thing” should be Sheffield United at home to Notts County. The Blades have won four on the bounce and have the third best home record in the division against a very modest County away record. County have lost six of their eleven away games. United will also have seen Huddersfield, Mk Dons and Charlton all win. A win will be a must and there will be a sell-out crowd at Brammal Lane hoping to witness a Blades victory. I’m sure both teams can serve up over 2.5 goals @ 4/5.
There’s nothing much to report on the tennis or olympic watch except that my mate enjoyed his “signed” framed photos of his Olympic heroes Mo Farah and Tom Daley for his secret Santa gifts.
Short and sweet, now I’ll be off for a bit to test my liver at the various social events of the festive periods.
Over and out.
