Tommy’s Greyhound Review

This week’s betting blog focusses on Thursday’s William Hill Oaks Final at Wimbledon. What looked to be competition in the bag for the Charlie Lister trained-bitch Silverview Perky after her quarter final romping was not the case after last week’s semi-final stage. She went to the traps a 4/7 chance and was expected to win her semi-final but was firmly put in her place. The inform Spinkys Nod, known for her early pace, showed her forte again pinging the boxes and was never in doubt of getting pegged back by the short-price favourite winning by a comfortable 1 1/4  lengths.

Looking ahead, here’s some greyhound gambling advice for the other race s that evening…

Big Bet 1

The bookmakers make Silverview Perky an 11/8 shot to reverse the semi-final form, with Spinkys Nod a 9/4 chance. I don’t see any reason for this to be the case and I suggest a big bet on Spinkys Nod at the current prices.

Big Bet 2

The next greyhound I fancy comes at 8.15, a race over the standard 480 meters. This can go to the talented Local Dee Jay who was unfortunate not to win the Kent Derby when leading and getting out stayed narrowly. Although this isn’t as big a prize he can add another win by gaining success here.

Big Bet 3

My last fancy of the evening runs in the 9.10 over the six bend trip of 687 meters and is a greyhound that comes from the same kennel as my earlier fancy Local Dee Jay. This race can go to the Kelly Findlay-trained Fleeting Image. This greyhound ran brilliantly in a stronger contest on Sky last week getting beat only a length. He can make amends this week and at any price around 2/1 I would place a big bet on!
