Tommy’s Weekly Greyhound Review
A couple of big bets in this week’s betting blog and the usual greyhound gambling advice.
The highlight of this week’s greyhound racing is the final of the Essex Vase at Romford. It’s not one of my favourite tracks as short straights and tight bends mean that you need a get-out-and-go greyhound as coming from behind is very difficult. My fancies are all going to be greyhounds that need to lead so you will know your fate quickly!
Right let’s waste no more time and try to find my followers some winners.
Big Bet 1
First bet of the evening comes in the first race live on sky at 7.40, a six bend affair over 575 meters. I very much like the chances of Droopys Aretha, a bitch trained by Seamus Cahill. This greyhound has been mixing it with the best bitches in the country recently, competing in the final of The Oaks at Wimbledon over 480 meters and staying on at the finish to take 2nd behind the impressive Silverview Perky. This will only be this bitch’s second race over six bends but I feel this is where her future lies.
Big Bet 2
My next fancy comes in the 8.15, a race over the marathon trip of 750 meters. I like the chances of Bubbly Swallow. This greyhound is another greyhound stepping up in distance this evening; last week she stayed on at the finish to take a race at this venue but over the six bend trip. I think she will relish the eight bend trip tonight!
Big Bet 3
My last bet of this evening will be in the final at 9.45. The race has five railers in it so there is without doubt going to be some scrum merging heading to the first bend. I think Judicial Pride coming out of trap two can take advantage of his rails draw and gain a big enough lead to hold on at the finish from the strong finishers Aero majestic and Westmead Maldini.
