Abu Dhabi Championship

Some more gambling advice from my betting blog this week, as The Abu Dhabi Championship comes to town.

It’s the first leg of the Gulf swing on the European Tour and what a tournament we have. The top four golfers in the world and six of the top ten will tee it up this week alongside former number 1 Tiger Woods. The fact that Tiger has decided to begin his season in Abu Dhabi may be significant especially as he has won the US Tour event, The Farmers Insurance Open, on six occasions.

The fact so many of the world’s best are in the field makes it hard to be confident of naming the winner but on the plus side there are some juicy prices on offer.

Martin Kaymer rightly heads the market having lifted the trophy in three of the last four years. But 6/1 is on the skinny side with so many good players in opposition. We can apply this rule to at least 7 or 8 of the players at the front of the market and for this reason we are putting up a few players e/w at big prices.

Alexander Noren (twice a winner last year), Marcus Fraser (two second place finishes in Australia at the end of last season) Gregory Bourdy (running into form and proven in the desert) and David Horsey (must show his true form again soon) are the four I will be punting this week. One place will ensure a decent profit and if the unthinkable happens, happy days!

My Big Bets

Alexander Noren current odds 80/1

David Horsey current odds 200/1

Gregory Bourdy current odds 250/1

Marcus Fraser current odds 125/1
