Dane Can Bring Home the Bacon
The third leg of the ‘Desert Swing’, the Dubai Desert Classic, is this week’s European Tour event where some of the world’s best will be teeing it up again.
Rory McIlroy deservedly heads the market, with Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer, fellow world top ten ranked adversaries next in the market.
It is unusual to see these players involved so much early season and their form, with the exception of McIlroy, 2nd in the Abu Dhabi Championship, has been a bit sketchy. For this reason this betting blog likes the chances of Dane Anders Hansen this week.
Although not a prolific winner on tour he does compete near the top of the leader board regularly and has twice lifted the tour’s flagship trophy, the PGA Championship at Wentworth.
He has matured with age and his stats in all categories have improved gradually over the past 5 seasons. Even at the age of 41 it could be that Hansen’s best years are still to come and he can continue his good start to the season (14th at Abu Dhabi and 12th in Qater) with a good showing in the desert this week where he finished 2nd last year.
Glenn’s Big Bet of the Week
Anders Hansen
Current odds 28/1
