There were trials on Tuesday and Wednesday. Some very good times posted by dogs at the front end of the market. Cloran Paddy, Droopys Buick, Bruisers Bullet and Dorotas Wildcat.

Fastest time of the day went to Bruisers Bullet and Droopys Buick who both posted 29.12. In behind with a flashy 29.17 was 2015 Irish Derby Winner Ballymac Matt. Ballymac Matt has already been a 4 and a half length second to Dorotas Wildcat so that trial will keep him ticking over nicely and keep his fans encouraged somewhat.

On Wednesday there were plenty of dogs trialling and of the ones at the top end of the market Droopys Bluebird was quickest. On the back of that we clipped from 28 to 20 as we’d been beaten up by the punters enough. A time of 29.11 was pretty impressive.

We’re of the view that Sonic needed his run on 9th May when chasing home the impressive Barricane Tommy, having been off the track since Bonfire night ’16. The Jun’14 dog posted 29.32 despite some ‘Wide’ comments on the trials result sheet.

Of the other trialists Forest Con clocked 29.15, Calico Ranger 29.29 and Crossfield Giles and Droopys Awesome 29.31.

We haven’t been overwhelmed with Clares Rocket so far – a week is a long time in greyhound racing and whilst everyone was 8/1 Clares Rocket a week ago we are now 14/1 joint favourites with Priceless Brandy.
