70 unbeaten for Mourinho at home?

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Premier League fixtures have been sliced into this weekend and arguably it should be the best saved until last with the 4pm showdown between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

It’s third v fourth in the table with just a point between them and for added fireworks we have Suarez back in front of the home crowd and John Terry celebrating his 600th Chelsea appearance.

Chelsea are struggling to score at the moment, and for my money not looking title contenders despite their position.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have been a revelation this season and are playing with sparkle and were unlucky not to get something out of their Boxing Day fixture against Man City – which if it had been a boxing match the judges would surely have marked it as a draw.

Liverpool have a pretty good recent record against Chelsea:

(Max last 10 only)
Apr 2013 Premier Liverpool 2-2 Chelsea
Nov 2012 Premier Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool
May 2012 Premier Liverpool 4-1 Chelsea
May 2012 FA Cup Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
Nov 2011 Carling Cup Chelsea 0-2 Liverpool
Nov 2011 Premier Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool
Feb 2011 Premier Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
Nov 2010 Premier Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
May 2010 Premier Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea
Oct 2009 Premier Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

Mourinho has won 54 and lost none of his 69 Premier League matches as a manager at Stamford Bridge and that (amazing) stat could come under some pressure this afternoon as Liverpool are not having many problems finding the back of the net.

They have scored 29 goals in their last 14 trips to London in the Premier League (2.07 per game).

The league is so tight that the Liverpool team which was top at Christmas could be out of the top four by New Year – that’s one stat Liverpool won’t want their name next to.

It looks to close to call and I will be playing the draw with Star Sports at around 5/2.
