Reeves 10/3 (from 9/2) to be replaced as Chancellor of the Exchequer this year

Rachel Reeves has shortened with Star Sports to exit her post as Chancellor of the Exchequer before the end of the year.

Reeves was 9/2 yesterday, but following the news of her rental home rule break she’s been cut to 10/3 to exit her post in 2025.

Even if she manages to keep hold of her position, she’s 4/7 to be replaced in 2026.

William Kedjanyi, Political Betting Analyst at Star Sports, said: “With the UK economy under pressure and growth hard to come by, Rachel Reeves continues to be in the spotlight. Last night’s story surrounding her failure to get the required license to rent out her family home seems to have added even more fuel to the fire.

“The budget is on the horizon, with the threat of tax rises keeping Reeves firmly under the microscope, and the building pressure is reflected in our market as we’ve shortened Reeves into 10/3 from 9/2 to exit her post before 2025 is up.

“On top of this, Labour find themselves in a continued slump with their polling figures seeing little to no improvement over the last couple of months. Should Reeves survive the year, we’ve got her odds-on at 4/7 to be replaced as Chancellor of the Exchequer in 2026.”
