PRESS RELEASE: David Lammy’s price plummets to be next Cabinet Minister to leave

David Lammy has seen his price with Star Sports shorten significantly to be the next cabinet minister to leave.

Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Lammy, under the spotlight following two inmates mistakenly being released from HMP Wandsworth, is now 7/2 from 14/1 to be the next minister to leave Keir Starmer’s cabinet.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has leapt to the front of the market in the past week, in from 10/1 to 11/8, following her anticipated tax rises in the upcoming November budget.

Former market favourite, Energy and Climate Change minister Ed Miliband, has drifted from 2/1 out to 6/1.

William Kedjanyi, Political Betting Analyst at Star Sports, said: “It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours for Deputy PM and Justice Minister David Lammy, as two inmates mistakenly being released from HMP Wandsworth prison has put him under huge pressure from fellow MPs, seeing his price plummet to be the next cabinet minister to leave.

“Lammy was 14/1 before yesterday’s fiasco, and we’ve cut his price all the way into 7/2, establishing the Tottenham MP as the second favourite in the betting.

“Rachel Reeves occupies top spot at 11/8, but growing pressure on Lammy could bridge the gap between the two at the top of the market.”
