One story that didn’t get the attention it deserved was the 5,031,640 people going racing in 2025 – a 4.8% increase on 2024.

Imagine the implosion on racing Twitter bubble if the figures had declined?

It’s great news in challenging economic times and proof, to me, that focussing on the core product appeal is more than enough – just as other sports do.

Diversionary speed dating, concerts etc can all be tried but let’s not lose sight of the simple attractions that a day at the races brings, otherwise we may end up going down some dead end roads.
