STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Fri: Leeds v Nottingham Forest
The weekend’s Premier League action begins with an important clash between Leeds and Nottingham Forest at Elland Road, writes WILLIAM KEDJANYI.
Both sides are level on 26 points from 24 games, so a victory for either club would take them nine points clear of the relegation zone. However, defeat would be costly, with West Ham improved in recent weeks and heading to Burnley as favourites tomorrow.
The wider outlook for survival is positive for Leeds. Since a formation change at half-time against Manchester City, they have lost only 2 of their 11 games since, and they were desperately unlucky not to take a point from one of the hardest away trips in the league when going down 4-3 at St James’s Park to boot.
They met Arsenal on a going day at the weekend – as some clubs have been unlucky to do – but in general they’ve been in very strong form, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Ao Tanaka and Brenden Aaronson in particularly good nick over recent weeks.

Nottingham Forest have also been in decent form. Since a frustrating 1-0 defeat at Braga in the Europa League, they bounced back with a 2-0 win at Brentford (no easy feat given the Bees’ home form), a 4-0 trashing of Ferencavros to seal their knockout spot in style and then a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace last weekend despite having Neco Williams sent off for a goalline handball just before half-time.
Dyche’s men – known for being tough to beat like his sides are all known for – have won their last two away games, beating the Hammers 2-1 and Brentford 2-0, so even a trip to Elland Road will not hold too many fears for them.
Leeds home advantage here will of course, be a helpful factor for them but there’s literally nothing between the two sides and the draw should give backers a very good run for their money with starsports.bet.
