GEORGE BOUHGEY: Southwell Saturday & Musselburgh Sunday
It’s a quieter weekend for the team, but we still have a couple of runners to look forward to, writes GEORGE BOUGHEY.
Eight days out from the Guineas now. Bow Echo galloped this morning and continues to please us. We’re counting down the days now and, fingers crossed, everything stays on track between now and then.

SATURDAY
PLUTARCH – 8:30pm Southwell
For a four-year-old, he’s still quite raw and we’re continuing to learn about him. This looks a good opportunity and it’s also a nice chance for Megan Smith, who has just taken out her licence, to gain some experience. She’s been with us for over a year now and knows him well at home. Hopefully, he can show a bit more and continue to progress.
SUNDAY
LADY DORA MAE – 4:45pm Musselburgh
It’s a long way to go, but she heads up there in good form. Things didn’t quite fall her way at Lingfield last time – I was a little concerned that a sharp seven furlongs around there might not suit if we didn’t get a prominent position.
She’s come out of that race very well and looks to be improving physically. She’s worked nicely on the turf at home and has a pedigree that suggests she’ll appreciate both the surface and a step up in trip.
She’s certainly not travelling up there for a day out and goes there with a solid chance.
