Manchester United can take a giant stride towards Champions League football when they host Brentford at Old Trafford on Monday evening, writes JOE CITRONE.

Michael Carrick has worked wonders since taking the reins in January, transforming a side that was in freefall under Ruben Amorim into genuine top-four contenders.

United sit third on 58 points – level with Liverpool and Aston Villa – and look in good shape to return to the Champions League, but can’t afford to get complacent at this late stage of the campaign.
