STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Fri: Leeds v Burnley

Leeds United host already-relegated Burnley at Elland Road on Friday night, writes JOE CITRONE.

Daniel Farke’s side are unbeaten in five Premier League games and within touching distance of safety, but the mood was dampened last weekend when they were edged out by Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium.

Whilst they were away from league action, the chasing pack below them in the Premier League were allowed to close the gap slightly, but a win on Friday night should still all but seal their Premier League status for another season.

The visitors arrive with nothing left to play for following their relegation, and with interim boss Michael Jackson (not that one) in the dugout after Scott Parker was shown the door on Thursday.

Their defensive record this season has been disappointing with them being strong at the back last term – 68 goals conceded, the worst in the division. And I think the Clarets could be in for another difficult evening – one of many this season – as they gear up for life back in the Championship.

That prospect is only made worse by the fact that Leeds, who Burnley matched stride for stride in last season’s second tier, have gone on to perform at a much higher level this season. What could have been, eh?

At 13/10 with starsports.bet, I am backing Leeds to win to nil here.
