The Tigers scraped into sixth place on the final day of the regular season, coming from behind to beat Norwich before Wrexham stumbled elsewhere to hand them their lifeline.

Alex Neil’s side arrive in the better shape of the two teams. Unbeaten in their last five, with the best away record in the division and a defensive record – just 24 goals conceded all season – that is the envy of the Championship, Millwall will be a formidable proposition in these play-offs.

They narrowly missed out on automatic promotion by a single point, and will be hungry to go one better.
