STAR WORLD CUP PREVIEW Fri: Canada v Bosnia-Herzegovina
The 2026 World Cup rolls into BMO Field on Friday as Canada kick off their home tournament against Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes JOE CITRONE.
Canada arrive in decent nick – unbeaten in their last five, with two wins and three draws.
The concern, however, is that three of those five games ended goalless or in stalemate against modest opposition, raising genuine questions about whether this attack can break down a well-organised European side.

And Bosnia are nothing if not organised, with Sergej Barbarez building a team cut from granite that will stick men behind the ball and look to frustrate their opponents.
Edin DΕΎeko, 40 years old and still somehow strutting the biggest stages, will lead the line. He’s been there, done it, and has absolutely no intention of being a warm-up act.
The hosts have the crowd, the occasion and, on paper, the better squad. But Bosnia have a battle-hardened resilience forged through two playoff wars against Wales and Italy, and that will be tough for Canada to break down.
Canada are strong favourites coming into this game, but I like the look of the draw at 12/5 with starsports.bet.
