GEORGE BOUGHEY: Royal Ascot Saturday

It’s been great to have three winners at the Royal Ascot meeting, the latest being Libertango, who was brilliant and provided a great way to kick off Friday, writes GEORGE BOUGHEY.

The final day of Royal Ascot is now upon us and, although we don’t have a runner at Ascot itself, we do have a very interesting runner in Kaito, who heads to Newmarket.

⭐ HORSE RACING MARKETS

🎩 Kaito – 2:00 Newmarket

Kaito runs in the novice at Newmarket after a disappointing effort at Sandown last week.

He disgraced himself at Sandown, to be honest. He was much too above himself and lost his race before he even left the paddock.

He worked nicely on Tuesday and I hope that, if we can keep him calm beforehand, we might see what we’ve been seeing in the mornings because his work has always been solid.

Running closer to home might just help him in the preliminaries and, if everything falls right, hopefully we can see a much better version of him.

🎩 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes – 3:40 Ascot

I don’t have a runner in the race, but if I was having a bet in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, I’d be with Joliestar.

I thought the Australian filly was probably the horse I’d want to train out of any of them. Her and Ombudsman have been the two horses I’ve really liked all week.

I just think if she’s shipped over well and seems to be okay, she’s the one!

🎩 Jersey Stakes – 4:20 Ascot

Another horse I’d be very keen on is Saber Strike in the Jersey Stakes for William Haggas and Tom Marquand.

He was super impressive at Newmarket, I thought, and he looks a really exciting prospect. I think he’ll take all the beating.
