Scotland stand on the cusp of history when they take on five-time World champions Brazil in Miami tonight, writes ALEX CROOK.

Brazil, meanwhile need a win to ensure they top the group after being held by Morocco in their group opener.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side roared back to form with a convincing victory over Haiti, but there are still doubts in my mind about their ability to be one of the main contenders for the trophy.

Matheus Cunha scored twice against Haiti and is the man Scotland have to stop in my view, especially with Raphina struggling with injury.

Clarke has kept us guessing over the make up of his formation, but will surely adopt a back three to try and frustrate their illustrious opponents for as long as possible.

Having scored just once in their first two games, it is hard to see a way the Scots can impose themselves on a Brazilian defence led by Arsenal’s Gabriel.

Scotland have never beaten a South American team in eight previous meetings, losing six and drawing two.

I think the best they can hope for is a point to guarantee a spot in the last 32, but in reality, Brazil should win, and win with something in hand.
