FRIDAY

BRUNHILDE – 10:15am Doncaster
Brunhilde is a filly we like and we think this step up in trip will suit her. It looks a good spot for her, although there’s plenty of respect for the Prescott runner, who has attracted support in the market. She’s a filly we hope can get off the mark before too long.

LEONATO – 10:30am Yarmouth
Leonato makes his handicap debut after a disappointing run at Chepstow, having shown much more promise on his previous start. He’s been a little inconsistent, but Billy was of the opinion that back on a flatter track we might see better from him. He does need to step up on what he’s shown recently.

KAORI – 11:30am Yarmouth
Kaori was disappointing on her handicap debut at Lingfield over 10 furlongs and drops back to a mile here. Her work has been better than she’s shown on the racecourse this year and it’s more about getting her back on track. She’s a very well-bred filly and it’s important that we make her a winner somewhere along the line.

EXOTIC BABY – 12:30pm Yarmouth
Exotic Baby drops into a 0-75 after meeting severe traffic problems late on last time. He’d looked much better on his previous start at Kempton and while returning to turf is a slight question mark, this looks the right grade of race for him.

AMORIM – 7:35pm Newmarket
Amorim steps back up to seven furlongs having got back on track at Windsor last time. Billy didn’t feel the blinkers made much difference, so we’ve taken them off. I’ve always thought he’ll get seven furlongs and his stride pattern and length of stride suggest that too. It’s a bit of a muddling race and hopefully he can get on the front end and try and dictate the race.

SATURDAY

DIVINE WHISPER – 5:45pm Windsor
Divine Whisper made a very promising start at York and was still very raw on debut. Possibly with another stride she would have won, so she looks a winner without a penalty. We’ve been pleased with her work since and hopefully she can go one better.

ALASRAE – 6:15pm Windsor
Alasrae had a poor draw at Windsor a couple of weeks ago and still hit the line strongly, but from that sort of wide gate he was always very unlikely to be winning. He’s in great shape and hopefully he can get back into the winner’s circle.

HAVANA FLASH – 7:55pm Lingfield
Havana Flash ran with credit in the Woodcote at Epsom before getting pretty tired late on. Her work has been good subsequently and I think she goes to Lingfield with a very good chance.

BLINDFOLD GAMES – 8:55pm Lingfield
Blindfold Games was disappointing at Windsor on Monday night, but this small field presented itself as a good opportunity. Jack Callan takes over in the saddle and she’s a well-bred filly we’re trying to make a winner. We had a similar project for the owner last year and it might be hard to tell exactly when it’s going to happen, but she’s always shown enough to win a race and this looked a good spot for her.

Best Chance of the Weekend

Divine Whisper would be my best chance of the weekend. She learned plenty from her debut, has done everything right since.
