#BettingPeople: Louise Powell spent her childhood going greyhound racing at ‘flapping’ tracks in the North East.
A very talented writer, Louise has written three commissioned short art films and had her plays performed at nine different theatres amongst other achievements.
Now taking inspiration from her early life going greyhound racing, she is publishing her debut novel ‘Underdogs’ which follows a father and son becoming involved in a greyhound gambling ring led by a charismatic ex-miner.
In Louise’s words, “I’ve poured my heart and soul into telling a story that’s worthy of the community that I grew up in.”
