GEORGE BOUGHEY on Bow Echo’s Win in the Sussex Stakes!

What a performance from Bow Echo, writes GEORGE BOUGHEY.

It wasn’t plain sailing, but champions find a way, and he showed so much class to dig deep to keep his unbeaten record intact. He’s proving himself to be the complete racehorse, with Billy Loughnane producing another brilliant ride, and an exciting autumn campaign in France and potentially the Breeders’ Cup now awaits all being well! An incredible day, I’m so lucky to train such a complete racehorse.

We have no runners at Goodwood on Thursday, but we do have two horses in action elsewhere, headed by Survie, who takes her chance in the Grade 2 Glens Falls Stakes at Saratoga.

SURVIE – 10:14pm Saratoga (Glens Falls Stakes, Grade 2)

Survie seems to have travelled over to Saratoga really well. She showed earlier this year when winning in Saudi Arabia that she can travel and thrive away from home, and Antonia Peck, who is out there with her, seems very happy with how she’s settled in.

Stepping back up to a mile and a half is where we need to see her at her best. I’m delighted to have Flavien Prat on board and, from stall one, she should be able to find herself a nice position. It looks like there could be a bit of rain over the next few days, which would inconvenience her, but we’re really excited to see her run on Thursday afternoon.

WORLINGTON – 7:32pm Wolverhampton

Worlington got his head in front two starts ago before I probably ran him back a little too quickly in very hot conditions last time. That’s trainer error rather than the horse.

He’s had a bit more time since then and I hope we see him back in a much better light.

NASSAU STAKES PREVIEW

The Nassau Stakes is another fascinating Group 1, but I’ll side with Diamond Necklace. It’s always difficult for the older fillies and mares to give weight away to top-class three-year-olds at this stage of the season, and I think Diamond Necklace could be another very special Ballydoyle filly. She gets the vote.
