ALEX CROOK PREVIEW: Premier League GW6
Star Sports football ambassador ALEX CROOK is back to preview the weekend of Premier League action!
🟣 ASTON VILLA v BRENTFORD 🐝
Saturday, 3pm
It has been another turbulent start to the season for Aston Villa whose 3-2 triumph at Tottenham last time out ended a run of four games without a victory.
Last season’s Europa League winners will be aiming to pick up their first three points at home when they entertain Brentford on Saturday.
That won’t be easy against a Bees side brimming in confidence as one of only five teams yet to lose a game.
Brentford boss Keith Andrews has also had the sign over Villa counterpart Unai Emery after beating him twice last season.
Pep Guardiola was the last Premier League manager to record three successive victories over his fellow Spaniard.
With Villa still lacking fluency and the visitors in form, I think Andrews’s men are too big a price and will be backing a Brentford victory and both teams to score pays 10/3 with starsports.bet.

🔴 MANCHESTER UNITED v TOTTENHAM ⚪
Saturday, 5.30pm
Michael Carrick was one manager pleased to welcome the extended international break to give him some rest bite from United’s underwhelming start to the campaign.
After collecting just one win and five points from their first five matches, October feels like a critical month for Carrick with a couple of tricky Champions League games either side of Saturday’s visit of Tottenham and a trip to bitter foes Leeds.
However, Carrick only need glance into the opposition dugout to realise there is someone even worse off than him as Roberto De Zerbi’s expensively-assembled and winless team sit rock bottom.
This is a game Carrick and De Zerbi can both ill afford to lose and while the data of the two sides is leaning me towards a home victory, it would take a brave punter to have absolute faith in United.
My attention is drawn to the goalscorer market as I am anticipating a fairly open contest with both teams decidedly shaky at the back
Bryan Mbeumo just loves playing against Tottenham and has scored six goals in his last seven outings against the men from north London.
You can back Mbeumo to score at any time at 6/5 with starsports.bet.

🔴 LIVERPOOL v MANCHESTER CITY 🔵
Sunday, 4.30pm
I will be at Anfield on Sunday for what is certain to be a very hostile welcome from the home fans to the travelling Manchester City players.
It is ironic City’s first game after being found guilty of all but one of their 115 financial charges is this one given the epic title battles the two teams have fought in the not-so-distant past.
There is an argument Liverpool have more reason than most to feel aggrieved by the independent commission’s damning verdict, which will only ramp up the atmosphere in the stands.
I am fascinated to see how the City squad react to all the headlines and animosity that will come their way, although it is clear the club’s hierarchy are trying to adopt a siege mentality.
With so much background noise, it is easy to forget that Enzo Maresca’s men have made a very good start to the season and sit top of the table.
Liverpool meanwhile are also unbeaten under their new manager Andoni Iraola so from a pure footballing perspective this should be an absolute belter.
I think City will be determined at least not to lose and heap more negativity on themselves, and Liverpool have already drawn three of their first five games, including two at home.
The draw and both teams to score is priced up at 16/5 with starsports.bet.

🔵 COVENTRY v NEWCASTLE ⚫
Monday, 8pm
The final game of the weekend on Monday sees Coventry entertain Newcastle.
I was hearing whispers about Frank Lamaprd’s job being under pressure before Coventry beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 three weeks ago.
That scoreline did not really tell the story of the game as Lampard’s charges had just 37 per cent possession and an XG of 0.67, but it was a much-needed victory nonetheless.
Newcastle also returned to winning ways last time out by beating Hull 2-1 and sit a respectable 8th place in the table with five games played.
Coventry are bidding to become only the sixth side in Premier League history to lose their first three home games of the season without scoring and I am erring on the side of an away victory.
Newcastle to win, both teams to score, no, and the in-form Harvey Barnes to get on the scoresheet pays 9/1 as a build-a-bet with starsports.bet.
