NEWCASTLE UNITED v ASTON VILLA PREVIEW

Newcastle United will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 4-1 defeat to newly-promoted Coventry City last time out, as goals from Jack Rudoni, Sidiki Cherif, Ellis Simms and Teddy Mfuni put the Toon Army to the sword.

It’s been an inconsistent start to the season for Newcastle, and they’ll need to find greater consistency in their performances if they’re to climb the table and build some momentum.

Matthias Jaissle will still be without Anthony Elanga, Jacob Ramsey, and Tino Livramento but may be boosted by the timely return of Brazilian midfielder Joelinton.

Aston Villa have endured a difficult start to the season, but have shown signs of improvement in their last two outings, picking up four points from a win over Spurs and a draw against Brentford.

Unai Emery will be hoping these results mark the beginning of a turnaround, as Villa look to get their season on track.
