PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN v BARCELONA PREVIEW
There’s no doubt that this is the clash of the week, between the two outright favourites for the trophy. Barcelona’s incredible start to the season – they are 11 from 11, having won all of their La Liga games whilst beating Feyenoord 5-1 on the opening matchday and then coming from behind to win 4-1 at Galatasaray – has pushed them to the head of the outright betting
PSG made a stuttering domestic start, but they opened their League Phase campaign with a 6-1 trashing of Slovan Bratislava and are unbeaten in five games since, with their standout performance coming in a 4-2 win at Manchester City when they could have scored double for all that City will feel aggrieved not to have scored at least once more). After the international break, PSG have scored at least three goals a game and look very much like the side that won back-to-back European titles, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, and Ousmane Dembele all in top form.
Separating these two is very hard – Barcelona are slight favourites, although PSG’s form since the international break is much more of their expected level and they have home advantage, having also passed their toughest test of the season so far with their victory at Manchester City last time out.
Barcelona are obviously packed with goals from all over the pitch – seven different players have scored for them in their two League Phase games so far, and even changed side put five past Real Betis when Lamine Yamal and Gabriel Jesus scored before Dani Olmi ended the scoring.
Injuries might be a slight worry for the visitors, currently 11/8 with starsports.bet – (Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Gerard Martin and Gabriel Jesus suffered knocks in the weekend win at Real Betis and must be assessed – whilst this is their toughest test of the season for all that they’ve had miles in hand of their opponents so far.

WHERE’S THE BETTING VALUE IN PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN v BARCELONA?
Goals are understandably expected and the market has priced them in hugely – even Over 3.5 goals is 1/2 with starsports.bet and Over 4.5 is just 23/20. For those who are happy to take a side in the match odds, adding in +1.5 or 2.5 with your selection looks a wise choice and the Build-a-bet feature might provide a good angle in here. Last week’s shootout between PSG and Manchester City ended up with six goals and 13 corners, which makes the 7/5 that with starsports.bet offer about the same happening here of interest.
The 11/5 on Osumane Dembele and Raphinha scoring in 90 minuities is also interesting. Dembele has scored in three of his last five games, including last week’s win at Manchester City and Raphinha has scored in eight of his 11 appearances this season, and seven of nine for Barcelona. In a game where goals are expected to flow, both should be in the thick of the action.
