STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Thurs: Everton v Newcastle
Everton take on Newcastle United in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night in the final all-Premier League tie of the Fourth Round, writes JOE CITRONE.
EVERTON v NEWCASTLE UNITED PREVIEW
Everton will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back Premier League defeats, having suffered 2-0 losses to both Chelsea and Arsenal. Their most recent setback came against the Gunners, where goals from Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes condemned the Toffees to another disappointing result.
With silverware long overdue, Everton fans will be desperate to see their side make a serious push for a trophy. Their last major honour came in the 1995 FA Cup, and supporters will be hoping David Moyes takes this competition seriously as Everton look to secure a place in the quarter-finals and keep their hopes of ending that trophy drought alive.

Newcastle United will be eager to reclaim the trophy they lifted in 2025, and will also be looking to build on the momentum from their latest Premier League outing, where goals from William Osula and Harvey Barnes secured a positive result against Crystal Palace and got the Toon Army back to winning ways.
With confidence restored, Newcastle will be hoping to carry that form into this cup tie as they look to keep their hopes of silverware alive and take another step towards lifting the trophy once again.

WHEREβS THE BETTING VALUE IN EVERTON v NEWCASTLE?
Although Newcastle will take confidence from their win at the weekend, neither side has been in particularly convincing form of late. With little to separate the two, predicting who will progress to the quarter-finals feels something of a toss-up.
With that in mind, the more appealing option is Newcastle United to qualify at 23/20 with starsports.bet, rather than backing Everton at odds-on. At those prices, the odds on Newcastle advancing offer an alternative in what looks set to be a closely contested tie.
