BEST BETS
Nicky Henderson: OUR CONOR !!!! (Champion Hurdle)
Aidan Coleman: VALDEX (Arkle)
Philip Hobbs: CHELTENIAN (County)
Martin Chapman: BIG SHU (Cross Country)
KEY NOTES
Nicky Henderson: BOBS WORTH ‘really well’ – nice piece of recent work, fresh and well. CAPTAIN CUTTER definitely run in Albert Bartlett as does Philip Hobbs’ CHAMPAGNE WEST. Henderson confirmed CUP FINAL and ROYAL BOY both run in the Neptune.
As for MY TENT OR YOURS it was a ‘small wound on foot’ and added ‘a lot of people made a lot of fuss. He is going swimming today and the problem is expected go away very quickly. Henderson was more worried about lack of pace in Champion and even contemplated supplementing a pacemaker ! Jessie Harrington told him Jezki (who could run in a hood) is ‘very well’.
HOBBS
Philip Hobbs: MENORAH decent ew chance in the Ryanair. IF IN DOUBT sweet on in the Pertemps. WISHFUL THINKING small ew chance in Champion Chase
GOLD CUP
Everyone thought BOBS WORTH’s chances of a repeat were very strong.
Nicky Henderson: TRIOLO D’ALENE could of run with ‘lumps of weight’ in a handicap so decided might as well to go for Gold Cup as National trial.
OSCAR WHISKY Nicky Henderson: No real race for it at Cheltenham – very pleased with the way it has taken to fences. Even if there was a 2 1/2m hurdle he would still keep him fencing.
ARKLE
Half panel keen on VALDEZ whilst ROCK ON RUBY divided opinion
RSA
Aidan Coleman keen on LE BEQ – there was a general worry about recent racecourse schooling fall for BALLYCASEY.
Aidan Coleman also quite keen on DARE ME at a big price (Grand Annual)
