ADAM KIRBY: Lingfield Saturday

Three rides at Lingfield on Saturday including Hathal in the Winter Derby at 3.15pm.

Remains a maiden but has run well in both starts this year and is now dropped back in trip. He’s versatile in terms of being ridden from the front or back and hopefully he’ll put in another big run in what looks a wide open handicap.

FEARSOME (2.35pm)

A really progressive sort who now bids for a five-timer. Two of those wins have come over course and distance and he really loves it here. He had plenty in hand when I won on him at Wolverhampton and he went on to score a quick follow-up with a 6lb penalty under Joshua Bryan last time out. He’s now racing off a career high mark but I’m hopeful of another good spin given his current form.

HATHAL (3.15pm Betway Winter Derby Stakes Group 3)

The big race of the day and I’m pleased to have the ride on Hathal who is in terrific form for Jamie (Osbourne). He comes into this on the back of two wins at Wolverhampton and is having his first run at Lingfield since his maiden win. The big problem for us all is Wissahickon who is very well in on official ratings and looks a very classy all-weather horse. He’s not bad on turf either winning the Cambridgeshire !! Group 3 races aren’t given away though and we’ll be giving it our best shot.

Good luck
