ADAM KIRBY: Wolverhampton Saturday

Three rides at Wolverhampton’s evening meeting on Saturday including Magic Illusion for Charlie Appleby in the 6.45pm.

WHERE’S PERLE (5.15pm)

Am riding the filly for the first time for Michael Wigham and she seemed to improve for the step up to seven furlongs last time out when fifth to Dancing Jo. Rajman, In The Cove and Feel The Noize all ran in that Kempton race and reappear today. There was so little between the four that it might just come down to the one that gets most luck in running here.

NUMERO UNO (6.15pm)

This doesn’t look a bad contest for the course and my fella is likely to need to find some improvement from his first two starts at Newbury and Sandown. Nottingham runner-up King Of Change and the dual winner Meringue both bring good form to the table.

Nice to pick up this ride for the Charlie Appleby stable. The son of Dubawi has shown plenty of ability in his two starts to date at Ascot on debut and last time out at Newmarket where he was fifth to Kick On who went on to finish a fair fifth in the Group 1 Futurity Trophy Stakes at Doncaster. Magic Illusion has been gelded since his last run and hopefully his class will show here. Sezim should improve for his Newmarket debut and there are some interesting debutants as well that we need to see off.

Good luck
