Busy book of rides at Wolverhampton on Saturday night. I had a winner at the track on Wednesday with Roland Rocks and hopefully will be amongst the winners again on Saturday.
ADAM was on the mark at Kempton last night with a treble !! PRIVATE ROCKET (100/30), SARYSHAGANN (14/1) and GET BACK GET BACK (11/4)
PUSHKIN MUSEUM (5.15pm)
A course and distance winner back in June but has gone up in the weights as a result and has struggled in his last few races. He has the tongue tie on for the first time which will hopefully help him in what looks a wide open race.
ROCKIES SPIRIT (5.45pm)
I’m riding this fella for the first time. He doesn’t look to be in bad form arriving here on the back of a good third at Chelmsford and a fourth on the turf at Nottingham. He’s down 2lb in the handicap which should help in this sprint handicap.
Trainer David O’Meara looks to have a strong chance in this claimer as he also saddles Fayez who I was onboard last time when he finished fourth at Lingfield. Bravery hasn’t managed a win this season despite tumbling down the weights but has run some good efforts to suggest a claimer should be well within his grasp. This is his first run on the all-weather for a while but won a maiden at Dundalk when trained by Aidan O’Brien.
MAN OF VERVE (6.45pm)
A shock winner at Newcastle on the all-weather earlier in the year, he has struggled a little since then but there was promise a week ago here when he finished sixth, but not beaten far. He’ll need to be at his best though as it looks open with hat-trick seeking Earl Of Bunnacurry looking the biggest danger.
DAI HORRISGLE (7.15pm)
He finished fifth on debut at Redcar and should come on plenty for that effort. This could well be a hot race though with debutants from the Sir Michael Stoute, Simon Crisford, Roger Charlton and John Gosden yard all in opposition !
POUR ME A DRINK (7.45pm)
Second division of the novice stakes and also dominated by interesting debutants. My fella ran well enough on debut for Clive (Cox) when fifth at Leicester and the horse that finished just in front of him that day Travel On ran a great race at Newmarket next time out so I’m hoping the form is solid enough.
CONGRESS PLACE (8.15pm)
She definitely seems to be going the right way and has improved with each start. Probably bumped into a decent one when second to Winter Light at Chelmsford last time out and the extra furlong here should suit. Fume ran well at Kempton last time out and looks the biggest danger.
