Back at York on Friday for two rides on the third day of the Ebor Festival.
I’ll be blogging later on Friday with news of a busy Saturday with rides at Goodwood and Windsor.
HEARTACHE (3:35pm Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes)
Great to have a ride in this featured Group 1 contest which can throw up a big priced winner. Remember Sole Power at 100-1 back in 2010 ?
I ride Heartache for Clive (Cox) who hasn’t done much wrong winning three of her six starts and has plenty of class too as she showed when winning the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot for me last season and she went on to win the Flying Childers – another Group 2.
She hasn’t quite been firing to the same level this season and will need to bring her absolute A Game to the table here to get competitive but is versatile ground wise and I think the minimum distance is her best trip.
She’s obviously got plenty to find with Battaash on Goodwood form and he is really becoming a sprint king.
CRACK ON CRACK ON (4.50pm)
I couldn’t be more pleased with the form he is in this season – he’s won three of his four starts including a decent handicap at Ascot last time out for which he has been hiked up another 5lb.
He’s progressive though and still on an upward curve. He’s not the quickest away from the stalls so I’ll need to keep an eye on how that pans out, especially as he is coming out of box one but I’m hoping he’ll give me another great ride in a hugely competitive finale.
