Alex and the Arrers

Well ladies and gents it’s been a while since I blogged. Apologies. It’s just that I’ve been so out of form I’ve had to lay low and save the pennies! Haha.

However, I think (and hope) I’m back in top form on one of my true loves – ARRERS! The weekend gone saw the grand slam of darts begin in Wolverhampton. Now I can’t really advise on the outrights at the moment as the group games are on-going. I shall however, comment on tomorrow’s final group games for A, B & C. For me there are two standout matches with two obvious winners! Firstly, Mark Webster must be backed at 1/2! Co Stompe is really struggling for form and has been wiped out in his first two games. Webster on the other hand had a great victory against Waites and put up a more than decent effort against the power. He will win.

The other match where a player is very back-able is Kevin “the Artist” Painter against young James Hubbard. Hubbard has thrown some lovely arrers but hasn’t had the killer instinct in his first two matches. He is definitely one to watch but will lose against Painter. Painter needs to win to go through and that snarling tenacity and never say die attitude will see him put Hubbard to the sword. He’s also a 1/2 shot but I really can’t see him not winning. So stick him in a double with Webster and it really is easy money!

Now I know backing 1/2 shots isn’t exactly the quick route to the rich house so I’ll put up a couple of bigger price ones if you want to live a little bit more dangerously. Back Jan Dekker at 7/4 and Dean Winstanley at 13/8. Dekker played two on fire players in King and Wade. He’ll want to put up a good show for the BDO and him and Monk should be 10/11 each. The pressure will be off Dekker so expect the arrers to flow. Now “Deano” had 5 out of 5 doubles in his match against Hubbard. Whitlock went the distance in the last match missing quite a few doubles. Deano could punish him at a decent price.

Enjoy. I’ll be back later on in the week with a Cheltenham Paddy Power special.
