ALEX CROOK PREVIEW: Premier League Gameweek 25
talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent ALEX CROOK looks ahead to an exciting weekend of Premier League football…
🐝 BRENTFORD v LIVERPOOL 🔴
⭐ STARSPORTS.BET MATCH MARKETS ⭐
League leaders Liverpool travel to Brentford on Saturday lunchtime in the knowledge a victory will take them five points clear at the top of the table.
The in-form Reds are heavy favourites having lost only one of their last 13 matches in all competitions.
However, Brentford showed in the first half of their defeat at home to Manchester City two weeks ago that they are still capable of giving the big teams a game despite the fact they are languishing in the lower regions of the table.
Thomas Frank will once again adopt a very physical approach, which is sure to test Liverpool’s injury-hit back line.
The absence of England’s Trent Alexander-Arnold will give the hosts further encouragement they can pick up a shock result to further ease their relegation fears.
Brentford have found positive results hard to come by though and I think the way to play this is on Liverpool to come out on top with both teams scoring.
Since Ivan Toney’s return from suspension the Bees have posed a much greater threat at the top end of the pitch and half of their last six games have ended with 3-2 scorelines.
Liverpool to win and BTTS is 7/4 with starsports.bet
Toney has netted in three of the four games he has played and looks on a mission not only to get himself a place on England’s plane for the Euros but also a big-money summer move.
Toney to score at any time is 19/10 with starsports.bet
⚪ TOTTENHAM v WOLVES 🟠
⭐ STARSPORTS.BET MATCH MARKETS ⭐
The Tottenham Hotspur stadium was once again the place to be for late drama last weekend as Spurs left it very late to beat Brighton 2-1 and land us a nice winning selection in the process.
I am back there on Saturday and expecting more of the same from Ange Postecoglu’s entertainers.
It was Wolves who stole the points in stoppage time when these two met at Molineux earlier in the season so Spurs will be looking to get their own back.
The one thing we know for certain is that Gary O’Neil will come up with a game-plan tailored to negate the hosts’ strengths so this should be another really competitive contest between two of the potential manager of the year contenders.
Spurs have a habit of having to come from behind to grind out victory so I will be having a small play on Wolves to be winning at half time and Tottenham to emerge victorious by full time at a tasty 16/1 with starsports.bet.
🟠 LUTON TOWN v MANCHESTER UNITED 🔴
⭐ STARSPORTS.BET MATCH MARKETS ⭐
My second match of the weekend will be Manchester United’s visit to Kenilworth Road on Sunday afternoon.
I was there to see Liverpool having to rely on a last-gasp leveller to steal a point on their visit to ‘The Kenny’ while Arsenal also needed a stoppage-winner to take all three points away from home against the Hatters.
Luton also gave a very good account of themselves at Old Trafford so Erik ten Hag’s seemingly rejuvenated side will be taking nothing for granted.
However, United are in their best form of the season and bidding for a fifth successive win for the first time all campaign.
I’ve learned not to take anything for granted as this team are more than capable of throwing in a shocker of a performance but I do think United will win.
Luton fluffed their lines against Sheffield United last weekend when they were in the unusual position of being favourites for victory.
Rob Edwards will be demanding a response to that loss so I can also see the hosts getting themselves on the scoresheet.
For the last part of my build-a-bet I will be backing Rasmus Hojlund to extend his recent stellar form in front of goals.
United to win, BTTS and Hojlund to score at any time returns around 4/1 with starsports.bet

⭐ STARSPORTS.BET FOOTBALL SPECIALS ⭐
It has struck me in the last few game weeks that we are seeing a big number of goals and that the art of defending is dead. In the last fortnight, only three of the 20 games have featured less than three goals.
With that in mind, I’ve asked our generous traders to boost the odds of over 2.5 goals in all ten Premier League games this weekend from 100-1 to 125-1.
I’m sure that is going to come in sooner rather than later!
Good luck,
ALEX CROOK
