ALEX CROOK PREVIEW: Premier League Weekend

Star Sports ambassador ALEX CROOK previews the weekend Premier League action, and puts up another Alex Acca…

BRIGHTON v LEEDS
Saturday, 3pm

⭐️ STARSPORTS.BET MATCH MARKETS ⭐️

It has been a disappointing week for Brighton as they lost 4-2 at rejuvenated Manchester United last weekend and then crashed out of the EFL Cup at Arsenal.

Consistency has been in short supply for the Seagulls, who have fallen into the unwanted habit of winning one week and losing the next.

For this week’s best bet I am backing that trend to continue by putting Leeds to the sword at the Amex on Saturday.

Daniel Farke’s side picked up a priceless 2-1 victory at home to relegation rivals West Ham last Friday, but I just think the Seagulls will have too much quality.

It would not surprise me if Giorginio Rutter came back to haunt his old employers.

Either way I am taking Brighton to win at 10/11 with starsports.bet.

BURNLEY v ARSENAL
Saturday, 3pm

⭐️ STARSPORTS.BET MATCH MARKETS ⭐️

Arsenal’s phenomenal season continued as they ousted Brighton from the EFL cup on Wednesday with a 2-0 victory at the Emirates.

Despite making 10 changes, and surviving a couple of early scares, Mikel Arteta’s side eventually cruised into the last eight.

It means that the Gunners won all six of their games in all competitions in October without conceding a single goal, setting a new club record in the process.

The Premier League leaders ought to be confident of extending that run as they travel to face Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Scott Parker’s side have more than held their own since winning promotion from the Championship last season and were unlucky to lose to a late Mo Salah penalty at home to Liverpool earlier in the campaign so can be a tough nut to crack.

But this is their toughest test so far and with the Gunners welcoming back their big guns, it’s hard to make a case for anything other than another fairly routine away victory.

Arsenal to win to nil delivered last weekend and I see no reason that will not be the case again here. I am also going to throw in talisman Bukayo Saka to score to boost our build—abet to 3.39/1 with starsports.bet.

WEST HAM v NEWCASTLE
Sunday, 2pm

⭐️ STARSPORTS.BET MATCH MARKETS ⭐️

Nuno Espirito’s Santo’s quest for a first win as West Ham manager continues when they welcome Newcastle to London Stadium on Sunday lunchtime.

The Hammers have endured a disastrous start to the season and defeat against Eddie Howe’s in-form Magpies would see them lose eight of their first ten games of a Premier League campaign for the first time ever.

The hosts have also conceded 20 goals in their first nine League matches, many of them from set pieces, an area where the visitors are especially so strong.

‘Big’ Dan Burn is just the type of player to capitalise on such aerial frailties.

After a slow start to the campaign Newcastle appear to be heading in the right direction after winning five of their last six games in all competitions.

Their away record however, leaves a bit to be desired and Howe’s men are yet to taste victory away from St James’s Park in the Premier League this season.

They are though unbeaten in each of their last six visits to West Ham and it is hard to see that changing unless Nuno’s troops dramatically improve on recent woeful performances.

You can back a Newcastle win, Burn to score at any time and the combative Lucas Paqueta to be shown a card as a build-a-bet at 28/1 with starsports.bet.

SUNDERLAND v EVERTON
Monday, 8pm

⭐️ STARSPORTS.BET MATCH MARKETS ⭐️

Sunderland have been the surprise package of the season so far and find themselves in the giddy heights of fourth place in the table heading into the weekend.

The Black Cats have taken 17 points from their first nine matches, meaning, they are already well on course to secure their top-flight status and avoid the immediate return to the Championship many pundits predicted.

Everton, meanwhile, are down in 14th after losing 3-0 at home to Tottenham last weekend.

That scoreline didn’t really reflect the way the game was played out. However, once again the Toffees’ shot-shy strikers found to fire in front of goal.

Between them, Beto and Thierno Barry have now scored just once in a combined 19 League appearances, which by his own admission is a major concern for manager David Moyes as he returns to one of his former clubs.

Sunderland were superb in their 2-1 victory away at Chelsea, coming from behind to cause one of the upsets of the season so far.

I’m backing Regis Le Bris’s side to put another three points on the board and the bang in-form Wilson Isidor to continue his fine start to the season with another goal as a build-a-bet at 5.31/1 with starsports.bet.
