Michael Carrick’s Manchester United will be looking to tighten their grip on third place when they kick-off the weekend with a trip to the Vitality Stadium on Friday night.
Many observers were wondering how United would react to Carrick losing his unbeaten record against ten-man Newcastle, and the Red Devils answered those questions emphatically by beating Champions League rivals Aston Villa 3-1 last Sunday.
With every victory, the case to hand Carrick the manager’s job permanently becomes more compelling, especially if he can end United’s five-game winless run against the Cherries.
December’s 4-4 thriller at Old Trafford was one of the games of the season, so no wonder the return meeting was snapped up for live TV.
Bournemouth are enjoying a ten-game unbeaten run, but have become the Premier League’s draw specialists, undermining their bid for a place in Europe for the first time in their history.
United have been formidable at home under Carrick, however have looked more vulnerable on the road, drawing at West Ham and being turned over at St James Park, so I am expecting a pretty close contest.
Matheus Cunha was sent off on this ground playing for Wolves in the FA Cup last season, but has looked in decent nick in his last few outings and I am backing him to make headlines for the right reasons.
Cunha to score at any time pays 15/8 with starsports.bet. If he starts, I also like the look of Bournemouth’s no-nonsense defender Adam Smith to be shown a card at 13/8 with starsports.bet.
🔵 EVERTON V CHELSEA 🔵

It has not been a brilliant couple of weeks to be a Chelsea fan, or a Chelsea manager.
The Blues have been bashed up by PSG not once but twice in the Champions League, and also slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Newcastle to dent their hopes of a top-five finish in the Premier League.
The spotlight is well and truly on Liam Rosenior ahead of Saturday’s trip to European-chasing Everton.
The hosts lost little in defeat at champions-elect Arsenal last weekend when two late goals condemned them to a harsh 2-0 reverse at the Emirates.
Victory for David Moyes’s men would leave them just three points behind their visitors, and Chelsea do not traditionally fare well on the Blue half of Merseyside, winning just one of their last eight visits to the Toffees’ former Goodison Park ground.
It is not hard to see Everton grounding out a draw and heaping more pressure on Rosenior and one of the west Londoners’ main issues since the former Hull boss took charge has been conceding from set pieces.
If James Tarkowski is fit after missing the trip to Arsenal, then the imposing centre-back to score at any time at 12/1 with starsports.bet.
⚪️ TOTTENHAM V NOTTINGHAM FOREST 🌳

Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor finally picked up his first win as they beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 on Wednesday but still ultimately lost their Champions League last 16 tie 7-5 on aggregate.
There was plenty to admire about Spurs’ best display under Tudor, with Archie Gray, Xavi Simons, and Mathys Tel particularly impressive and long-suffering Spurs fans will be hoping their team have turned a corner on the back of last weekend’s spirited 1-1 draw at Liverpool.
The real acid test comes on Sunday when Tottenham host relegation rivals Nottingham Forest in what is arguably the biggest game of both clubs’ seasons.
Three points for either will be a major shot in the arm for their survival hopes.
Forest are without a win in their last seven Premier League games and are still struggling for goals while Spurs remain the only team yet to win a league game in 2026.
There will nerves aplenty at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but if the hosts play as well as they did on Wednesday, I fancy Tudor to get his maiden Premier League triumph. The Croatian is also helped by getting key players back from injury and suspension.
Richarlison was banned against Atletico but is expected to start this one and is one Premier League goal away from double figures after claiming the late equaliser at Anfield.
My build-a-bet is Tottenham to win, Richarlison to score, under 1.5 Nottingham Forest goals and over 2.5 cards in the game, which returns with starsports.bet.
