The England v Germany game produced a profit for me last night with a bet on Germany (+1). Very short odds admittedly. Well done if you braver and backed Germany without the goal start !

From Wembley and England v Germany to the North East tonight and Gateshead v Oxford at the International Stadium – a stones throw from the Angel Of The North.

And who’s to say we won’t see a better game than last night ?

Certainly the first encounter between these two sides produced an entertaining game which ended 2-2 at the Kassam Stadium.

Gateshead had a 2-0 lead and will no doubt be thinking they should be already in the next round of the FA Cup but were thwarted by Danny Roses’s injury time winner.

An away tie against Wrexham awaits the winners in the second round and marginal favourites are Oxford who have won six of their nine away matches this season.

Gateshead from the Conference are a league lower than their League Two visitors but with home advantage should again test Oxford.

Not sure we’ll be any the wiser after 90 minutes in a match that could go the distance and be very tight and on that basis, I’m on the draw at around 5/2.

Just 15 months after scooping the country’s second largest ever lottery jackpot (£148 million), Adrian and Gillian Bayford’s marriage is over.

Adrian and Gillian Bayford, from Haverhill, Suffolk, bagged Britain’s second biggest ever lottery prize with their Euromillions jackpot in August last year.

Jardine Michelson Public Relations issued a statement on Mrs Bayford’s behalf confirming the split.

“Gillian Bayford confirms that her marriage to Adrian has broken down irretrievably and they have separated,” it said.

“Gillian requests that the media respect her and her children’s privacy and that of their wider family at this time.

“Gillian will be giving no further comment about this matter either now or in the future.”
