BEN KEITH: ‘The 50-1 selection that’s great each-way value for the Greyhound Derby’

ben_keith_team-150x150[dropcap]I[/dropcap]’m about to completely contradict myself… As a bookmaker, I like to lay dogs that miss the break THEN show early. I always feel that, at short prices, they will keep finding trouble and flatter themselves by looking unlucky.

All the way through the 2016 Greyhound Derby, we saw Jaytee Jet slightly miss the break, and then run. However, he proved me wrong, and took the ultimate prize in Greyhound Racing.

He is what I would describe as a ‘portfolio bet’ for the Derby, this year. Available at 50s, he will benefit from the extra 20 metres, he has trialled well at the track (okay, okay, “Trials for show, races for dough” , but he’s the real deal), and he is almost guaranteed Trap 6 in every round. 12.5/1 to reach the final, is surely too big. JUMP ON THE JET!
