BEN’S BLOG: “A Big “Thank You!” from the Independent-Bookmakers”
[dropcap]B[/dropcap]log, have you read the good news, in the Racing Post, yet? Today, announced by Bill Barber, we are told that bookmakers, will be exempt, from paying Levy, on horseracing bets, for the first £500k of their profits.
In a business-world, of doom and gloom, this will be seen, by independents, as a huge gesture of goodwill, from the authorities, for paying them all along, whilst the Big Firms, were on the dodge. THANK YOU.

In other news:
“Crumbs from a rich man’s table”. Hats off, to Stan James, for mixing it with the big-boys, and getting their hands on, the 37 left-over betting-shops, that Fred Done was unable to buy, in the big sell-off, of Ladbrokes and Corals ‘competition’ shops. At just £13.5k per unit, they’ve had an absolute bargain. At times, it’s felt like SJ have been left behind, by the Paddy Powers of this world, but they’ve always been innovative, sponsored big races, and really left their mark, in terms of character, on the game. GOOD LUCK..!!
Over and out, B x
