BEN’S BLOG: ‘Day 1: Lomo Saltado’
[dropcap]D[/dropcap]iazapam is my saviour; on long-haul flights. It’s knock-out effects, spare not only my sanity, but also that, of my ladyfriend, and official Head of Packing and Charging Devices; Belindabelle.
On arrival, we were met at the airport, by Tom, one of the head honchos, at Casa Hogar. We made the exciting journey, around Lima, and out to Pachacamac, in his 4 x 4, which is necessary, for such an adventure. We could not quite believe though, where we are staying. Expecting a humble abode, to then be met, by a walled, paradise like, hideaway, was breathtaking (like a loyal Facebooker, Blog, I have taken some photos for you).
In other news:
Have you ever eaten ‘Lomo Saltado’? It is a sophisticated, Peruvian version, of steak ‘n chips. Tonight, we were treated to it, as a welcome meal. It is steak, flash fried, in vinegar, then mixed in, with a deep gravy, tomatoes, onions and red-peppers. Accompanied, of course, by chips. It’s a sensational dish, that you should not miss.
