Thanks go to Big Mac and The Booby, for taking myself and my ladyfriend, Belinda, to make our dayboo, at The Ivy. The highlight of the evening though, was on our way home, when Mac took it upon himself, to wind down the window, and shout out to the doorman of Stringfellows ‘Don’t worry! Mr Ben will be back in half an hour. Please save his table! He’ll be back later!!’. NUTTER..!

The Ivy, 1 – 5 West Street, Covent Garden, WC2H 9NQ. WEB SITE. Superb. Quite superb. Oozes class without being pretentious. The best Richard Caring restaurant I’ve been to (and certainly not as flash or expensive as Scott’s or ’34’). Valet parking. A truly beautiful bar and dining area. Attentive and knowledgeable Staff. My starter (Bang Bang Chicken), main (Shepherds Pie – their house speciality), and dessert (Eton Mess), were all excellent. A nice crowd in there, but a little loud at times. A new regular. 9.5
