BEN’S BLOG: ‘Hasta lluego Casa Hogar’
[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s we arrived at Casa Hogar this morning, everybody was inside. A door half ajar, we poked our heads in. Surprise! It was a party for us, with all the children and volunteers. So very touching, but not expected or necessary.
It’s been a wonderful return, Blog. The highlight, I would say, was the day we met four former alumni. All living happy and fulfilling lives – I suppose you could say; the end prize for such a charity.
When we set off for the airport, Sophia ran out to give me a hug, not understanding why we were leaving. It was a tough goodbye. Quickly, the children start to call you ‘Papa’ or ‘Mama’, as they are desperate for someone to stay long enough, to feel like a real mum or dad.
There are so many special little characters here. And it must be remembered, that none, because of their own volition.
In other news:
Anywayzzz… Let’s talk about money and action (because that’s what we realllly love. ISN’T IT, Blog?). If you’ve enjoyed reading about my time at Casa Hogar (WEB SITE), Villa Martha, in Pachacamac, and would like to make a donation, or come and work as a volunteer, please contact me at ben@www.starsportsbet.co.uk
YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
