BEN’S BLOG: ‘It feels like the night before Christmas’
I picked up Star MD, Gaul Wood, from Victoria at lunchtime, and we headed up to Cheltenham, eating about 3,000 sugary sweets and an enormous collection of bacon rolls on the way.
I felt so happy. We’ve got a cracking pitch at the track, a box, the best adverts going, and have done a million festival preview-evenings, to drum up as much business and new accounts as possible.
None of this would have been possible though, without the enormous and relentless support of The Star Family. Everyone has rallied around. Everyone has got stuck in. And I’m proud of them all.
One special mention though: Kyle Drummond joined us a few months ago. He has the enthusiasm of a bouncy labrador and wants to get on with everything the game puts before him. When I arrived at the Cheltenham house, he galloped over to open the door, and greeted me with a high five and the words ‘It feels like the night before Christmas!’. Top man. GOOD LUCK, KYLE.

HUGE STAR ANNOUNCEMENT: To keep away any scary feminists, from the Star hospitality area this week, we’ve enlisted the services of John ‘Big Mac’ and Jenny ‘The Booby’ McCririck. They will be with us, giving out hot inside-info, tic-tac lessons, telling jokes and posing for fun photographs. Its going to be a pleasure to have them on board, and also to recognise and thank John, for the huge impact and contribution, his career has given the betting-ring. COME RACING!!
