BEN’S BLOG: ‘Long live the Greyhound Derby..!!’
[dropcap]S[/dropcap]ince Saturday, I have received about a million text-messages, regarding Star Sports’ hopes, published in the Racing Post, to sponsor the 2017 Greyhound Derby.
It really is a crucial time, not just for Wimbledon, but for the future of Greyhound Racing. Should the track have a refurb, it would certainly be a major leisure and tourism destination, and everything has to be done, to show Sadiq Khan, and the local council, that The Dogs are the best option.
When I was there, for this year’s final, the track was packed to the rafters. They literally couldn’t have squeezed another body in. Let’s hope it’ll be that way, for many years to come. LONG LIVE THE GREYHOUND DERBY..!!

Thanks go, Blog, to “Kojak” for recommending this restaurant to us… The Star Gang, who were manning our betting-shop, at Lords, made their way there, after the cricket, and were all suitably impressed.
Lemonia, 89 Regents Park Road, Primrose Hill, NW1 8UY. A light, open and friendly restaurant. Very busy but not noisy. Good food (but we can’t still find a London Greek that will match Halepi) and excellent service. The Baklava and Mango, for dessert, would be the NAP and NB on the card. 7.5
