BEN’S BLOG: ‘Natural Layer’
[dropcap]W[/dropcap]e all see everything with different eyes. It’s an intriguing aspect of life, that you appreciate more and more, as you get older. But in the gambling world, it is with either a Bookmaker’s, or Punter’s eyes, that we view betting-mediums.
When I am pricing-up a dog-race, I’m looking for weaknesses, in a runner’s make-up, that make it beatable. Maybe, it’s prone to miss the break, and then show early-pace. Or cut in before the bend. Also, dogs that don’t get properly stuck in, at the first bend, and thus repeatedly, look unlucky.
After several runs, Cloran Paddy looked flat in the Derby final. He is prone to miss the break. And repeatedly, finds trouble, because he wobbles at the bend. It’s only, entering the back-straight, that he comes alive. Paddy is certainly a great dog, but as a Natural Layer, he looks an obvious ‘Layβ’, to me, at a best-priced Evens. “11/10 THE FIELD…”.

This great fight, this battle to the death, is drawing to a close. The two warriors, now blood covered, grasp at each other, for the last time. And although, they’ve ended the show, by dragging each other into a classless gutter, Trump and Clinton, are the most extreme of competitors, from both of whom, we can learn so much. So, Blog, which gladiator will leave the amplitheatre alive..? Who wants it the most?
