BEN’S BLOG: ‘Sad news about Philip Chandler’
[dropcap]I[/dropcap] am very sorry, Blog, to the hear the sad news, of Philip Chandler, the former owner and promoter, of Walthamstow Dogs; passing away. Philip was granite, but he was an old-skool figure, and I liked him. He had style and charisma, and he was a man who you could ‘talk’ to. It just shows though; you never know when your time is up. Like the late bookmaker, Tony Morris, those who knew Philip, all would have backed him, at big odds-on, to score a century.
I shall always be very grateful to PC, Blog, as he gave me my first big chance; when I was granted a pitch, at the great Walthamstow… PHILIP CHANDLER RIP.
In other news:
Those who haven’t been over, to check out the London Aquatic Centre (LINK), (which was used in the Olympics); should do.
The place, let me tell you; is breath-taking. Facilities, that are up and beyond, anything you will have seen before, and with an alluring glow to the pool, you truly feel like an Olympian, even when you belly-flop your way in, for the first time.
The diving-boards aren’t for scaredy-cats either. They’re not open all the time, (so check before you go), but are mightily impressive, and if you are a hard-nut, (and not scared of doing another belly-flop), should be dived/jumped off too.
Over and out, B xβ
