BEN’S BLOG: ‘Stand up and speak your mind!’

ben_keith_team-150x150[dropcap]T[/dropcap]oday, this country has it’s first chance, in many years, to stand up and speak it’s mind.  At last, we can vote for a an individual.  A man with true character and backbone.  And someone, really, who’s great achievement isn’t being recognised.  He’s taken on the ever unattractive and arrogant English Establishment.  And you better believe it, he’s shaking them to their core.  From nowhere, defying all the odds, he has really come to the front of British politics.

That man, is his own man, and his name is Nigel Farage.  NF, I take my hat off to you.  I don’t agree with all of your policies, but I love what you’re doing:  Getting people talking, injecting a bit of fun into politics, and chucking questions up into the air.  Questions that have been conveniently avoided for many years.

This is your chance to stop bailing out the unlucky-face countries.  Let them get on with their business.  And we’ll get on with ours.  VOTE UKIP!

In other news:

chickenshopIn a last-ditch effort to drag me to the left, Star MD, Gaul Wood is repeatedly forcing me to try ‘trendy’ frequented London restaurants.  In a basement in Kentish Town, with no sign (like a secret den of vice for London middle-class lefties), sits this hugely popular version of Nando’s for Trendies; ‘Chicken Shop’.  The grub?  Not bad.  The ambience?  Not bad, if a little crowded and noisey for a snob like me.  The service?  Apart from the rather aloof and pretentious maitre’d, who showed us to our table; pretty good (I think she disapproved, as we weren’t the standard and effected clientele).  However, the place was quite good fun, they didn’t take our eyes out with the bill, the food filled a hole (excellent corn-on-the-cob), and I’d recommend it if you’re hungry and want to get fed, quickly, and without any fuss.  Chicken Shop, clearly a gold-mine for it’s owners, scores a 6.

hook‘The Hook’ has been given a life-sentence in America.  But why did we have to leave it to the Yanks to get the job done properly?  Why didn’t British justice have the bollocks to do this years ago?  Might it have upset a few wets?  Might it have rocked the boat just a little?   It’s just embarrassing and pathetic.  Pull your finger out, Cameron!

Over and out, Ben x
