BEN’S BLOG: ‘The Halfwit Firms – “What’s Oddschecker?”‘

[dropcap]I[/dropcap] have a Spanish lesson once a week. And with my teacher, Silvia, who is from Barcelona, we walk my dog, Mr Josh, and have a chat in Spanish.

Today, Blog, I was telling Silvia, about my current hero; Cloran Paddy. And ‎as a new experience, I decided to take her, into the nearest betting-shop, and place £10 each-way, on the mutt, to win the greatest race on the planet.

On entering the shop, owned by a billion pound company, with thousands of such outlets, I approached the ‘jump’, and asked a Staff, what price Cloran Paddy was, to win the Greyhound Derby. And I was met with thus:

“What’s the Greyhound Derby? When is it??”

I then asked him to call head-office. They weren’t answering the phone.

Then, his crowning glory:

I informed the young man that the price was on Oddschecker.

“What’s Oddschecker?”.

Staggered. I am lost for words. It is now time to leave the shop.

HOW HAVE THESE HALFWIT FIRMS GOT SO MUCH MONEY AND I AM NOT A MEGA?

In other news:

Following his stunning open-race victory, at Sheffield, as a puppy, you were all told to back, each-way, the Max Shoes owned, Cloran Paddy, for The Derby‎, at 66s and 40s. Last night, he marched forward, by winning his quarter final, in the second fastest time of the competition (And Mr Shoes was interviewed on Sky!). MOVE ASIDE, THE BIG-TIMERS ARE COMING THROUGH.

Over and out, B x
