BEN’S BLOG: ‘Towcester know what they’re doing’

ben_keith_team-150x150[dropcap]M[/dropcap]uch has been said by different people (rather boring ones) that the bends at Towcester are rails friendly and not suitable for wide-racing open-race dogs.

I’m not going to claim to be an expert on the running styles of greyhounds. But I do believe, this is a bandwagon that many self-proclaimed experts are jumping on, just to make themselves sound clever and like they’re in with the genuine shrewdies (rather like, when the media jump on a certain footballer or football-manager’s under-performance).

Work has been done. Towcester have also said, in today’s Racing Post (copied below), that they will be grassing the bends, after this year’s Derby, if claims prove to be correct (and wouldn’t it be beautiful to see a grassed track, under floodlights, once again anyway?).

Don’t worry about Towcester. They’ve got their shit together. HAVE YOU..??
