BEN’S BLOG: ‘Well done for pissing Denise Coates off’

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t has been announced, on the Racing Post website, that bookmaking giant, Bet365, have decided to move their remote gambling licence to the lower-maintenance, and certainly lower-tax jurisdiction, of Gibraltar (Gib Gam Comm employ 6 people).

Denise Coates, in my opinion, is the highest achieving bookmaker in the history of the game. Yes, William Hill and Joe Coral were incredible, but Mrs Coates moved forward against true giants, starting from a porta-cabin, and has knocked these established and arrogant institutions for 6. And bloody well done to her.

But let’s be honest, Blog. Bloody well done too, to the UK Gambling Commission (250 employees) and Westminster. Here’s a HUGE business, employing thousands of people (in Stoke), they’ve bought a football club, and they pay a fortune in betting-tax.

Yep, well done, lads. Well done for pissing Denise Coates off. Good job. IDIOTS.

Brooks Newmark, Civil Society Minister (whatever that is), has been caught being a naughty boy, online, with an attractive woman. So what? Both participants were above the age of consent.

He was snared by the scummy Sunday Mirror. And anyway, how does this affect his role in making society more civil, Blog? This is a matter for Mr Newmark and his wife to resolve, and I don’t see why he should have to resign. GET ON WITH YOUR LIVES.
